Audrey spoke today from Isaiah 40:1-9 and Luke 1:67-80. She said that Zechariah prophesized that Jesus would bring hope and redemption. She also mentioned that Jesus brought comfort to the oppressed and discomfort to the oppressors. She said that as followers of Jesus, we all need to lead more fruitful lives by performing acts of mercy. She said that the prophets of Jesus’ time would see all of the injustice in the world today as a disaster.
