Come celebrate our story and sing our songs – the songs of Christmas –as we sing and shine the light of Christ into this dark world of longing and hoping. O, Come let us adore Jesus Christ, God’s gift to the World.

What do you do when it’s dark – and you can’t find the light? If the electricity goes out, or you’re lost in the dark woods, or on a dark street, even with people walking by, it can be scary. When we don’t know what’s hiding in the shadows – when our imagination frightens us, we long for the light.

Sometimes the light is closer than we know. And when the light comes, and dark shadows disappear, and we see a path before us, the light feels so precious and is such a relief.

The Christmas lights on Omotesando are a treat that the neighborhood looks forward to each year. Last year, because of the pandemic, the city didn’t even put up the lights, but this year they are back, delighting the crowds.

People stop in traffic to take pictures as the world is eager for light in a dark night.

On this corner on Omotesando,  Tokyo Union Church has been shining the light of Christ at Christmas for 91 years. Long before there was fancy shopping here, we were here sharing the light of Christ at Christmas.

This weekend we still share that light on Omotesando. With 5 services to celebrate the light of Christmas.

Please join us on Omotesando, or even online if you can’t be here, as we welcome the Christ child, the light shining in the darkness, God’s gift to the world.

All five services are listed and described below. I’m eager to see you this Christmas. God bless you.
