Introducing Byron: Intern Director for Youth and Children
By Byron Walker
Hello! I am Byron Walker, and I am thrilled to join the TUC community this year as the Children and Youth Intern Director. I grew up as a 4th generation Missionary Kid in the Middle East, and God has blessed me with an adventurous life. I've called Bethlehem, Jordan, Guam, and the Pacific Northwest of the US home and would love to add Japan to that list! I am joining you from the middle of my master's education, working towards an MDiv and second master's of Christian Education from Princeton Theological Seminary. I've worked with children and youth for the last nine years, and I was pretty young when I started. My calling in life is to tell all people of all ages how BELOVED they are in Christ! It is also a passion of mine to work as a spiritual bridge-builder, crossing divides and bringing people together from across disparate topics and identities; for example, my undergraduate degrees are in oceanography and theatre performance (how much more strange of a combination could you get?). I also love music, cultivating bonsai trees, and making friends. With a diverse background, I strive to celebrate all of God's creation. So, let’s have a great year sharing and growing toward the Kin’dom of heaven.
